OUR HISTORY
A Réunion Island story, rooted in real life
OUR FOUNDATIONS
Founded in 1989, the Sodirel Group has been supporting distribution stakeholders across Réunion Island for over 35 years. An independent Réunion-based company, Sodirel has grown through deep knowledge of the territory, its distribution networks and its economic specificities.
Over the years, the Group has structured its activities to meet the needs of brands, suppliers and distributors, combining logistics, field presence and commercial support.
This gradual development has been built on long-term relationships, strong operational proximity and a constant commitment to reliability.
35 years of local roots in support of Réunion Island distribution networks.
OUR MISSION
To deliver concrete, operational solutions to distribution stakeholders, acting as a reliable, responsive and committed partner across the entire territory of Réunion Island.
Sodirel acts as a link between brands, distribution networks and on-the-ground operations.
Distribution designed from the field, for the field.
A NEW IDENTITY
TRUE TO OUR DNA
In 2025, the Sodirel Group evolves its visual identity.
This new identity reflects a clear ambition: to affirm our maturity, our strength and our ability to evolve in line with market challenges.
The new logo highlights movement and fluidity, symbolizing a Group in action, closely connected to on-the-ground realities and constantly adapting.
The emphasis on the “SO”, the soft lines and the compact design expresses proximity, cohesion and reliability, key values that define Sodirel.
This evolution is not a break, but a continuation: that of a Group modernizing while remaining true to its values and its role as a committed local player.

PEOPLE AT THE HEART OF THE GROUP
For more than three decades, Sodirel has relied on committed teams, present in the field and building trusted relationships with our partners.
Sales teams, logistics specialists and support functions: every employee contributes daily to service quality, operational responsiveness and the performance of the brands we support.
Human proximity lies at the heart of our model.
I joined Sodirel in 1994.
And since then, I have grown alongside the company.
I discovered Sodirel in its early days. At the time, the company was still led by Mr. and Mrs. Leung, whom I sincerely thank. They trusted me and gave me the opportunity to take my first steps in the professional world. Without them, nothing would have begun.
When I joined Sodirel, I started in the warehouse: unloading, organizing and preparing orders for the sales teams. I started on the ground floor — and that journey shaped me. You learn the job, but above all, rigor, respect and the value of work well done.
Today, I work as a sales representative in the North-East area. Looking back, I am proud of the path I have taken—proud to have progressed step by step and to have grown alongside Sodirel. What I value most is seeing the long-term impact of my work.
I was also fortunate to be supported along the way. A special thank you to Philippe, our Sales Director, who taught me a great deal and supported me throughout my journey. His encouragement and advice truly mattered.
With my clients, relationships are built over time. They remain professional, but are also based on trust and proximity. With some, the bond has grown strong. That is what gives meaning to my role: the field, the human connection, the relationship.
And then, there is a phrase my parents always repeated, and that I carry with me every day:
Ti source i fé grandi la rivière. (Small streams make big rivers.)
Paulin GRONDIN
I joined Sodirel in 2002.
At the time, I was an accountant—and I still am today. But around me, the company has evolved greatly, grown and become more structured, while remaining true to its values.
When I started, Sodirel was not yet present in large-scale retail. Traditional distribution was just beginning to enter major retail formats. I witnessed work methods evolve, tools modernize and software change. This constant evolution was always stimulating—it allowed me to learn, adapt and grow with the company.
Sodirel was first and foremost a family business, led by Mr. and Mrs. Leung. In Montgaillard, the shop was the heart of the activity. That family spirit and strong human connections were present from the very beginning—and they remain part of Sodirel’s DNA today.
One particularly meaningful moment for me was the first Sodirel trade show at Nordev. It was a major milestone for the company. A lot of energy, some fatigue too, but above all, immense collective pride. A strong, positive memory that truly reflects how far we have come.
What has never changed is the importance placed on human relationships. The relationship with Éric and Karine Leung has always remained simple, direct and sincere. Sodirel has also always maintained a strong connection with local convenience retail. Even as the company grew, it remained close to traditional players, with genuine respect for the field and long-term relationships.
The atmosphere naturally evolved as the company grew. Sodirel became more structured and professional, while maintaining a friendly and welcoming environment. If I have stayed for so long, it is because I enjoy what I do, I feel good here, and because Sodirel’s evolution is real, visible and motivating.
Ce que nou nena lé p’tit, mais la qualité lé là. (What we have may be small, but the quality is there.)
